2021 Hands-On Bee Courses
How to Install and Care for your Packaged Bees

This course is for "newbees" or anyone that has not installed packages before.
How to Keep Honey Bees
Date and Time TBD (we will be offering multiple dates for this course)
Cost: $85
You will learn how to conduct a full hive exam, how to identify the different castes of the Honey bee, and how to spot and mark your queen! You will learn how to identify the various life stages of the Honey bee and how to spot brood disease in your bee hives. We will discuss the importance of record keeping and registering your Apiary. This class is suitable for beekeepers with little or no experience or those looking for a refresher course.

Please bring your own CLEAN protective gear and MASK. We have a selection of bee suits and veils available for purchase here if you don’t already have one. We will supply you with a hive tool and smoker for your use while you are here. Please wear appropriate clothes and footwear, we will be outside rain or shine. You will be working hands-on in the hives and you will get dirty. You can bring a notepad and pen, but the objective will be to have your hands in the hives; I will have handouts that you can review online using Dropbox and download for your own use. For each class you should bring your own chair if you may wish to sit for part of the class. We will provide small snacks and water throughout the class.
